Case Study Single

From corporate manager to independent Dynamics Business Central recruiter

Danny had spent over a decade in a big corporate recruitment firm and worked his way up to managing a team of up to 25 people. He enjoyed recruitment — but wanted more time on the client side, more freedom, and the chance to build his own desk in the Dynamics 365 Business Central space.

Before Working With Us

Before joining the Rec Launch model (the setup Danny entered when it was Everycloud), Danny was:

  • Managing up to 25 people — and realising the part he liked most was “working more with clients”
  • Thinking: “Can I do it for myself?” but also weighing up the reality of going solo
  • Staring down the “other stuff” that comes with starting a business: “website, accounting, VAT… the operational piece”
  • A little wary of the early-stage risk (he even referenced the “X amount of businesses go out in the first 12, 24 months” conversation)

After Working With Us

Once Danny joined, the theme was speed + freedom — with a lot fewer headaches.

  • He moved fast: “I… got off the mark in my second week.”
  • The onboarding was simple: “Day one walked in, picked up a phone… turned the computer on… the CRM was set up.” (He even joked it was like “the old Amazon Prime delivery.”)
  • He focused on the part he actually wanted to do: “Can I get on the phone to clients?… Can I start building my market?”
  • He built a niche he hadn’t worked before: “I’ve never done the Dynamics Business Central market… [I] went out there and built it.”
  • He progressed to bigger work over time: “now I’ve got some really good customers… we’re working on some global projects.”
  • He learned the operational pieces without stalling momentum: “I can learn about that, but I’m already billing.”
  • He summed it up cleanly: “Wholly positive. And the freedom is phenomenal.”
  • And when asked about regrets: “Not a sliver of regret.”

The Process

01

We put answers within arm’s reach

Danny said the biggest thing was “the ability to get the answer” — and not just “pumping it into ChatGPT and see what comes back.”

02

We removed the setup drag

“website, accounting, VAT… the operational piece.”

03

We made onboarding plug-and-play

“everything was ready to go.”

04

We put answers within arm’s reach

Danny said the biggest thing was “the ability to get the answer” — and not just “pumping it into ChatGPT and see what comes back.”

05

We responded fast when something cropped up

“every question is answered super quick by a person that you know and trust.”

06

We covered the reality of running a business

“You’re a marketeer, you’re a business owner, you’re finance… you actually can’t do it all yourself.”

The Outcome

Danny moved from a corporate leadership role into building his own market, and he described the experience as “wholly positive” with “freedom [that] is phenomenal.” The soft landing meant he could start quickly, stay focused on clients, and build a Dynamics Business Central niche from scratch — while learning the operational side along the way, with real people around him to keep things moving.
